More on the Temperature of Hell

The Great Wave Off Kanagawa,

Hokusai.

wood block print.

Seems the temperature of Hell remains below freezing.

I've mailed off my contract with Carina Press. I've been asked for a dedication and acknowledgements. The book is off to a copy editor.

Feeling much like a very small pup in a kennel of big dogs, I kept my acknowledgements brief and conventional: my family, my blog friends, Miss Snark, Writtenwyrdd for her generous and valuable beta reading, my editor - the standard style.

Totally inadequate.

A true list would be chapter length. It would include all of you for your unfailing encouragement and support, your advice, your friendship, your kindness and patience. For the sheer joy and pleasure of your company.

We all owe much to others. But hey, we owe some to ourselves too.

Keep us informed of your editing experience. The quirks keep changing and they are of utmost interest. :)

I love that print! I can't wait for your book, Bernita. :-) I've been hoping for ages and ages and ages!

I'm one of those who "owes much."
Charles, you gave me my first review when I began this present writerly incarnation. You cannot know how much it meant. I treasure it.

Happy to, Bernard, as long as it won't appear too self-absorbed ( she said anxiously.)

Natasha, if you ever swing your caravan north, make for my place!
Still seems on track for sometime late June.

Hi Bernita,
Although I don't come as ofter as I would like, I am a faithful reader.
Speaking of acknowledgments, you appear on one of mine for you helped me name my heroine "Hegwise" and saved me from reading Chaucer.
BTW, I'm surprised you mention Miss Snark as she no longer posts. :-)
Anyway, pray your book does well.

So far, so good, Szelsofa!

Rocking vewy, vewy quietly, SRN!

That is so nice, JH! And so nice to hear from you.
I owe Miss Snark much for her advice and encouragement.

Hanging on for dear life, Whirl.

Terrified out of my undersilkies, Raine, that something might still go wrong!

Thank you, Steve.

You, as I have said before and am delighted to say again, rock.

Someone gave me that print as a box of "From the Library of" stickers, but I don't like putting stickers in books.

Miss Snark's archives are still there, plus she posted condolences on Bernita'a blog - I think it was a very kind thing to do, with the large number of fans she has, to care for one. She deserves a mention.

Dear Wolf...

She certainly does, Gabriele. Her honest, witty, stringent advice saved me and many, many writers from a lot of stupid mistakes.
And but for her blog I might never have met you.

I'm glad it proceeds apace, Bernita. Looking forward to reading the final version. *rubs hands gleefully*

If I ever get a novel published (somewhat dubious in the nearish future given my lack of writing speed) I bet I get all sorts of worried I'll offend by leaving someone out, lol.

And that is my absolute favorite Japanese block print.

The "final version" still owes a lot to you, Written.
You write such lucious stuff, I wish you would hurry up!
