Blasted oaks in Sherwood Forest.
(photo from the Fortean Picture Library.)
Found it difficult (very, very) to choose a picture. This one finally seduced me because of its similarity to the Weirdly cover.

Autographed, if you so wish.

LOL!
HAHA! I laughed at that too (and also started looking for a box of chocolates to send)
;-)
Hee, Girls!
Might as well be upfront and blatant about it, she mumbled, because when you come down to it, all judging is.
I will take due note of language, grammar and all those pissy things though.
I love the picture. Lots of lovely ideas percolating already. Can't wait to see what everyone come up with.
that is a lovely tree!
I will wait until all's quiet around me to hear her words.

I think the main pleasure of this type of contest is reading all the different entries!
What a nice way of describing it, Szelsofa!
Yay! I think I'll give it shot.
It will be fun to experience this from the other side.
Will you be posting the entries?
Lovely, Jason.
of all the contest styles out there, I like yours best - so I stole it.
Yes, I will post the entries to display the enormous talent.
Excellent! I'll have to enter this one. I have an idea already!

Love the photo--good choice!

I will definetely enter.
Thank you, Raine. I dithered over the choice of picture.

hmmmm... looks like the trees aren't healthy...
Well, let's see if there's a plotbunny hiding in that pic. :)
I wonder why, Scott...
Gabriele, I hope people can find entire litters ( downs?) of them.
I have no ideas right now! I'm all burnt out! But thank goodness you are giving us til next week! the best part will be reading what everyone submits!
I sympathize, Ello, my daughter has the same work load.
Oooh, I am so seduced by these contests. Thanks for filling in the gap until Jason's next one. :)
Very evocative photo!
Thank you, Sarah.
They do smashing roast beef and yorkshire pudding with mashed turnips in the Sherwood Forest visitor cafe; 'fraid the legenary Royal(?)Oak has rather shot its bolt now, though...was patched up with bits of tin the last time I saw it....!
I flew out of the gate already and sent in my entry. Those trees called to me right away. I hope I didn't rush things, but sometimes I have to strike while the iron is hot before I chicken out.
Julie I suppose if we were about 800-1000 years old like the Major Oak is alledged to be, we could use a bit of tin too!

You're my first entry!
Thank you so much!
I hope to send you an entry soon.

I am going to write it soon.
Emperor, I deleted your entry. Your entry might be missed down here in comments.
I will post it on the blog tomorrow so everyone will be sure to see and enjoy it.
I LOVE that image - it inspires all sorts! I think I'm going to give your competition a go - subjective judging notwithstanding! ;-)
