Weirdly CONTEST!

Blasted oaks in Sherwood Forest.
(photo from the Fortean Picture Library.)

Found it difficult (very, very) to choose a picture. This one finally seduced me because of its similarity to the Weirdly cover.

The Prize:
A fresh and never-fondled paperback copy of Weirdly: A Collection of Strange Stories (Tales).

Autographed, if you so wish.

The Contest Rules:
1. Write a scene based on/inspired by/connected somehow with/ the picture above.

2. Upper limit 250 words. Any genre. One entry per personality.

3. Send in the body of an e-mail to the g-mail at the top of the blog. No attachments.

4. Please include permission for me to post your piece. Be sure to include a nym or pseudonym.

5. Contest runs from now until midnight (EST) next Friday (December 14).

The Disclaimer:
Judging will be entirely subjective.

HAHA! I laughed at that too (and also started looking for a box of chocolates to send)
;-)

Hee, Girls!
Might as well be upfront and blatant about it, she mumbled, because when you come down to it, all judging is.
I will take due note of language, grammar and all those pissy things though.

I love the picture. Lots of lovely ideas percolating already. Can't wait to see what everyone come up with.

I think the main pleasure of this type of contest is reading all the different entries!

What a nice way of describing it, Szelsofa!

Yay! I think I'll give it shot.

It will be fun to experience this from the other side.

Will you be posting the entries?

Well, let's see if there's a plotbunny hiding in that pic. :)

Bernita said...

I wonder why, Scott...

Gabriele, I hope people can find entire litters ( downs?) of them.

They do smashing roast beef and yorkshire pudding with mashed turnips in the Sherwood Forest visitor cafe; 'fraid the legenary Royal(?)Oak has rather shot its bolt now, though...was patched up with bits of tin the last time I saw it....!

I flew out of the gate already and sent in my entry. Those trees called to me right away. I hope I didn't rush things, but sometimes I have to strike while the iron is hot before I chicken out.

Bernita said...

Julie I suppose if we were about 800-1000 years old like the Major Oak is alledged to be, we could use a bit of tin too!
