Anno Domini 007

Photo/Masterfile/Greg Stott.

A Yggdrasil.
An axis mundi.

The world is past "the year's midnight" and the light, like an uncertain babe, creeps forward against the dark.

Today will have a minute more of bright than yesterday, as the earth tilts and spins toward the sun.

The calendar New Year is our official Janus Point on the wheel of time.

We look forward with plans, goals, resolutions.
We cast backward for lessons, events, summations.
The first time ever I saw your face.
Firsts and lasts.
...when you walk out the door.
Thought and Memory.

We may forget - amid the tidy compartmentalization, the future anticipation - that Now is all we ever have.
There is no place in my life right now for plans and goals and resolutions - only hope.

Tomorrow, at 7:00 A.M., my husband is scheduled for more heart surgery.
There will be no idiot's tale tomorrow.

Thank you both.
You warm my heart.

God knows everyone on this good green earth has or has had their own worries and heart-aches.
Mine are nothing new.
I just wanted to express why I won't be posting tomorrow.

My prayers will be for both of you. I remember what my father went through in the dark ages of this type of surgery in 1968. Thank God he was able to survive, and Thank God this type of surgery has went from the dark ages to mainstream modern in so many ways.

May you both have all the strength and courage you will need to beat this bump in the road of life and leave it all in the hands of God. My best, Don

What a beautiful post. And how true. I hope your husband does well. That's a scary situation. When the people we love are sick, it's not nice. You both will be in my prayers.

Oh, no. Oh, my.

Sending healing vibes, Bernita. And if good thoughts and prayers have anything to do with it, you'll both do very well.
(quick hug...)

Dear people, I didn't intend the post to be a sympathy suck, but your concern and kind wishes mean more than you can know.
He is much more fragile this time.
But then again, techniques and procedures improve almost yearly.
Thank you, Sela and Bunny, dear Robyn and Bailey, Janie and Raine.
I am very grateful for your good wishes.

You are all the dearest people to take the trouble to wish him well.
"Thank you" seem so pitifully inadequate.
